OSR-LA Releases First Zine
ORS-LA, a collection of Los Angeles-based TRPG players organized on Discord, has published a collaborative zine as a free giveaway to help players discover the group. This zine has been distributed at several local game stores, and will be also handed out at this week's LFG-CON in Burbank.
OSR-LA is a local group dedicated to in-person play of indie TRPGs, especially those in the OSR, (which stands for Old-School something-or-other). I joined the group looking for open tables to try new games. The players and GMs are excellent and the community is diverse and welcoming. Though that group, I've gotten to play Dolmenwood, Shadowdark and Let Us Build a Tower.
(OSR games try to evoke the styles of play of early TRPGs, though what those styles were, and how close these current games get is up for debate by people who like to debate things like that. For me... I don't need to over-categorize... I just like these games.)
The zine was collected, edited and published by member Chase Chauffe, who also drew the cover. The open forum collected contributions from over 20 members.
I contributed a rollable NPC table titled "Strange Little Weirdos".

The entire Zine can be downloaded here.
